Summer Camp Jobs

Summer artists at camp are expected to run daily acting classes on a rotating schedule, supervise campers in an outdoor setting, and direct one to two shows over the course of the summer. They are also required to communicate with mainstages and actively participate in training and curriculum development. Camp contracts are typically 8-9 weeks in length and sleepaway camps include salary and room/board for the duration of the contract.

Camp Staff have the following responsibilities:   

  • Teach your specialty one to four hours daily as part of selective and daily programming for children spanning in ages from 3-16.
  • Direct and produce 1-2 major musicals or shows during the summer.
  • Serve as a bunk counselor with an assigned age group, when requested.
  • Serve as an employee of the camp in which you are placed and follow the rules and guidelines that those camps have established.
  • Commit for the entire duration of the contract (June- August).

Currently Available Theater and Specialty Positions

* SLEEPAWAY CAMP POSITIONS*

Morgantown, WV- Teaching Artist- $2,500+
June 11- August 7. Facilitate theater sessions and direct 2 productions during the summer.

* LOCAL APPLICANTS REQUESTED *

Long Island, NY- Multiple Theater Positions at Day Camps- $2500-$3500 per summer
Dates and salaries vary by camp. Ideal applicants have access to car.

Pearl River, NY- Day Camp Photography, Music, Dance and Theater Specialists- $2500-$3500 per summer
June 24- August 20. Transportation from NYC is provided.

Washington DC Area, Multiple Theater Positions at Day Camps $1,800- $2,000 per summer
Dates and salaries vary by camp. Ideal applicants have access to car.

* SPECIALTY POSITIONS *

Arts & Crafts Specialists- Open positions in WV & NH!
Responsibilities include teaching daily programs in Arts & Crafts using a variety of mediums, collaborate with other camp specialists and, in some cases, lead or present at evening activities. Ideal candidates have ample experience in their craft, experience teaching kids age 4-16 and camp experience is a plus but not necessary.

AV/Tech Specialists- Open positions in NH &IN!
Responsibilities include facilitating the technical aspects of camp events including sound and lighting. Experience in technical aspects of theater and/or experience with AV equipment preferred. Personal skills and abilities required.
