mainstages is proud to partner with JCC Westside, in Los Angeles, California for a second summer of JCamp Shines! Two week theatrical experiences open to all interests and skill levels from grades K-7! With a program that includes daily swim and playtime along with leadership roles for older participants, our professional instructors will guide students through two-week sessions culminating in one of these performances:
In this fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza, Tony winners Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty have lovingly brought to life all of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, lazy Mayzie and a little boy with a big imagination, Jojo. The colorful characters transport us from the “Jungle of Nool” to the invisible world of the Whos. Performers will be excited to portray the characters from the familiar Dr. Seuss’ wacky and uniquely incredible fables. Produced with Permission from (MTI) Music Theatre International.
Super hero training is in session at Camp Mensch, a camp in need of help! Participants will build skills in theatrical combat while creating original super heroes and wicked villains. Join the cast and perform original heart-pounding choreographed scenes to save the campers from Doom!
